European Passport of Languages


პროექტი European Passport of Languages


Information
The idea is to travel through Europe with a passport (our European passport of languages). We work the most common curricular contents in all countries and design some activities for each topic. (First activity as introduction of the topic and the last one to conclude). With this, the students will fill in pages in the European passport of languages.

Aims:
Introducing other children, sharing their ideas, sharing their work, using ICT to collaborate and learn, encouraging pupils to learn to know and respect each other, teaching English in an appealing way.
Work process:
            September:
Schools introduction on TwinSpace (videos, VoiceThread, PowerPoint, Voki, Dvolver,,...). GUESSING GAME - Who is who?: Each school, 1 picture with all students (all of them with a number: row 1, student 1; row 1, student 2...), 1 podcast with the description of each one and a Google docs (a form) with the questions to be answered. In this way students can react to other student’s materials (pictures/podcast), Holiday album photos (Presentations; Countries visited by children; Photo; Countries visited by teachers; Photo).
October:
Time, personal routines, daily routines, write texts giving information about routines, compare daily routines of British/other countries children with their own experience.
November:
Create mixed-nationality groups. Healthy food survey, write recipe and start forum discussion about how healthy the recipe is. Revise the food words, talk about likes and dislikes, learn about the food pyramid, talk/write about your favourite food, and compare the favourite food of British /other countries children with their own one.
December:
Use There is/There are, giving directions, read and listen about means of transport, talk about transport safety rules, write/talk about places in a community / country, compare the places children in Britain (or other countries) go to with their own experience. Christmas song contest (videos and poll or Flashmeeting to nominate the winner).
January:
- TV programme interviewing famous people in history or experts talking about them (vídeo). Interview partners from other countries. - Use possessives and have got, listen/talk about parts of a computer, listen/talk about possessions and collections, compare possessions and collections of children in Britain (or other countries) with their own ones.
February:
Use the present continuous, talk/write about sports, listen to partners talking about sports, read texts about muscles, learn facts about how muscles work, compare sports children in Britain (or other countries) do with their own ones.
March:
Use wh- questions, listen to partners talking about health problems, read/write texts about the five senses, listen to/write descriptions about going to the doctor, compare how children in Britain (or other countries) look after their health with their own experience.
April:
Tourist city guide: Use the past simple of to be, listen to partners talking about places where they were yesterday. Talk/read/listen/write about castles, write/talk about school trips, compare school trips of children in Britain (or other countries) with their own experience.
May:
Use past tenses, listen to partners talking about events in the past, read texts describing people’s past, talk about objects people used in the past, write sentences about their past, analyse facts about history, compare life of children in Britain (or other countries) when they were small with their own experience.
June:
Holiday place survey choosing from the tourist guides shared on TwinSpace. Use the verb to like, listen to partners talking about holiday activities, read texts describing places to go on holidays, talk about activities they do on holidays, write sentences about what people like or dislike, compare things children in Britain (or other countries) like doing in the holidays with their own experience.
Evaluation:
- Teachers (Evaluate the development of the project in different moments to see if it is necessary to adjust contents, activities…) Google doc, Survey Monkey, others,… - Students (different moments to know how effective the activities are) Google doc, Survey Monkey, Polldaddy, others.
Ongoing activities: picture dictionary, handmade passport and online.
Dissemination of the Project: School websites, Twitter, Facebook… 
Expected results:
             European passports of languages (eBooks/magazines)
